Summer Discovery 2024 Application

Early Decision Application Deadline: Tuesday, February 20, 2024, 11:59 PM ET

Final Application Deadline: Friday, March 1, 2024, 11:59 PM ET.

Starting in January 2024, traditional and charter schools can apply for funding to provide instruction and enrichment activities in summer 2024. In its first year, the program will be for students completing grades K-8 in spring 2024 (Rising 1st – Rising 9th graders).

To be eligible for funding, applicants must represent Macomb, Oakland or Wayne County and serve a student population where at least 50% of students qualify for free lunch. Applicants must operate as a public school or a charter school.

Schools can apply to receive up to $2,000 per student to support high-quality summer learning programs for up to 100% of their Rising 1st to Rising 9th grade students. For more information on the grant funding model, please review the Grant Funding Model section of the FAQs
